Hey All
Hey All,
Last night the Chimaira show was good enough but not brilliant. Too many mid-tempo chugging parts, too much feeling of a band playing to the converted and not seriously going for it (fair play, they were probably still recovering from Download, but still).
Afterwards I hung with some friends that I ran into there, then I wound up crashing on their couch overnight in Mile End. Coulnd't sleep past about half five because the living room was flooded with light, so I plugged in the iPod and pulled out Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.
I think I wound up reading over fifty pages, and I discovered that as far as reading music goes, Miles Davis is good, the Carmina Burana by Carl Orff (all 25 parts) is good, but Enemy of the Sun by Neurosis is pretty bad (though Cleanse and Cleanse II are actually okay-ish for reading, because it is all one continuous drum jam).
After my friends got up I chilled with them for a while, then got on the 25 to Stratford, and took the tube home.
Rest of the day was spent checking messages and writing up notes.
The shower head in the bathroom is broken (at the head end of the hose), so tomorrow I need to go to homewares to see if I can find some kind of shower head thingo and the right tool to unscrew the hose.
Fun fun.
Over and out.
